Wickes do a good 'fine Filler' costs about £2.49. I used it today to fill in some fine cracks and was pretty impressed.

They also do a fantastic 'Decorators caulk' for £1.19 a tube, for the price its excellent stuff.

Don't use decorators filler (ie Caulk) as this is an acrylic based product that will contract. You need a good quality filler (but not ready mixed). Tetron is ideal. Use a fine gradew sandpaper to smooth off once thoroughly dry.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

Tetrion is the one I use in all my jobs, you can buy it from any decorating centre, IMO its the best one to use.

If i was doing loads of filler on a whole house for example, I would buy the gyproc filler, its so easy to rub down, but you can only buy in biggish sacks.

Another question about these hairline cracks - on some of them, they are discoloured either side, like a beige colour. So it looks like a stripe, maybe 2cm wide. I'm assuming all the products mentioned here would also deal with that ?
