    Hi
There are quite a few threads on the "in my home (diy)" board on granite. Just type it in the search. I have to say cheap granite will not last and will look rubbish. You get what you pay for. I know a few people on MSE have used Diapol (www.diapol.co.uk) and seem quite happy. We went to a local guy who was recommended to us - just didn't feel happy with sourcing over the internet, but thats up to the individual I suppose. x

Try Focus if you have one near you, I think they are all closing down. I got a really good bargain for mine and they look great!!

    I totally disagree!

We bought our kitchen worktops from www.polarstone and could'nt recommend them enough, they done a brilliant job.
They only sell grade A granite(unless you ask).
I know a friend who went with diapol and it looks good but i wanted something abit cheaper.

And now mine look better than hers!

And its through people like myself that people can get recommendations.

Im glad your looks ok. I have seen a few cheap (second grade) granite kitchens and they do look rubbish. After a few years there are chips around the sink area, and stains too and my friend who has them is really disappointed that she didn't spend the money, but like you say - recommendation is better than anything.
