Tracing Relative

I am trying to trace a long lost relative for a friend, unfortunately she can give me very limited information - basically name only, what is the best course of action I can take as she has very limited funds in order to help her find her relative.

Any ideas anyone?

I've found loads of mine from name try Genes reunited a wonderful site. I expect she has some idea of her age which should get you close enough if they are on there. You can also post a request out on there. The Salvation army also has a great missing relative unit.

Like the person above said Genes Reunited can be good, you can try the basic search for free but it costs about £9.99 for 6 months membership to make full use of the site (such as contacting other people for info). You could also do a search on Facebook, it's amazing how many people are one there now and that is free.

A lady I know personally Gill Whiteley has a column to find lost relatives and friends.
As far as I am aware there is no charge.
