Mortgage Dilema go with FD 5 year or HBSC rate matcher

  • Just to clarify one point, the valuation is £99.00 if the house is visible from the road, in other words it's a drive by valuation. The price does go up for flats and for houses that cannot be seen from the kerb side.

Personally think it's a great deal - so did my mortgage broker who said he couldn't even get anything as good as that and I should go ahead and book it directly. Even ignoring the flexibility of the offset side of the mortgage the interest rate is one of the best you'll find.

As for customer service, I've banked with FD since their first month of opening in the 80's and I would rate their customer service as the best - they even sent me a bottle of Champagne on one of their anniversaries as a gift for being one of their original customers.

    Hi
Nathanhill69 is spot on with the fees although I was told that you can pay the arangement fee up front if you like.
Apologies for saying £850 - I added an extra £149 which is payable when you close the mortgage account so it is not payable when you take out the mortgage.
    Keep the Faith:cool:

Hi, i have sent all the paperwork off and i feel quite positive about this new mortgage. FD are very good and really nice to chat to. It beats being diverted to a call centre although of course it is one but it feels like personal service.

thanks for all your advice. This site is really helpful
