  • Yep - tis me with the Pennine!

We madly went away over Easter to Scarborough, put the bloomin thing up in Force 9 gales (it stayed up....good job we're experienced campers) and managed to sleep for all of 10 minutes as it felt like being in a boat!

Thankfully wind dropped and all was well.

Gorgeous weather, walked on the beach and did all lovely things. Only had aninch on snow on Easter Sunday morning, and managed to get the canvas down dry on Monday! It was lovely, and DS (3) first time away in it thought it was fab.

It's the second time we've been away in it (last August, Lakes - torrential rain), so we know it's fine in wind, rain and snow. I think if we ever get sun it will shrink/melt! Away at Spring Bank for the weekend, and then 2 weeksin the summer (which could be fun - I'll be 34 weeks pregnant then!)

What about you? Any time off in it - any plans?

Wow, you were brave going away at Easter! Glad you had a good time though. We haven't used ours yet, although we now have a tow bar! :T :rotfl:

Hoping to get away in May, but it's being complicated by me and hubby both having problems getting holiday from work. If not, it might be June before we get to use it.

Oh thanks - will have a look at that one then - is it every week do you know?

Yeah, it's on every week. It's just started again, so might still be a bit quiet at the moment. You're probably best waiting til the beginning end of April/beginning of May when it gets a bit busier.

Bunny - Good luck with job; fingers crossed that you'll not be jobless too long!

YC & Snaggles - I'm not brave enough to say I'll definitely go to the car boot on Sunday; it has to be really really nice weather to get me out to a car boot (well not raining as a minimum, bonus if it isn't windy)! Might even combine it with a trip to Golden Acre Park. take some bread, feed the ducks...

  • I think I might brave it this Sunday if it's not too cold  I'll be up with my little boy anyway, so might as well try to hunt out some bargains. He's growing out of his clothes so quickly, and I got loads of lovely things for him from the carboot last year when I was pregnant.

I can't face a car boot, i value my long lies too much on the weekend!

How's everyone on this monday? I've had a busy morning so planning on not doing much this afternoon if i can help it!! time will tell.............

didn't get up to much at weekend.. went swimming with erin, went round shops in town, bought myself a fascinator thingy for my hair for this up and coming wedding... also bought a pair of shoes from charity shop but i don't like them much now, they will be going on Ebay! cost me £3 so hope to get at least that much for them.

sunday went out for a 3mile walk with my friend in training for our RFL in june, doing run/walk 1 min this week, so not looking forward to that!!!
Then i took the dogs out, so reckon i covered 5-6 miles on sunday, ooooooooooooh where's my halo!?
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

    hi all.

Just got back from my first session for my teaching course. It felt really 'right' so fingers crossed it all goes as smoothly. There are only 4 of us at the Monday class so unless 2 more can be recruited before next week, the chances are we'll move to join the Tuesday night class.

It also turns out that I may still be able to do cookery as my specialism. It all seems a bit 'woolly' as what counts as being a specialism. When I went to the information session, it seemed that I wasn't qualified enough to teach it, but because I have lots of 'experience' of cooking as an amateur at home (and doing Masterchef helps) I could well be able to do cookery after all. Having my hygiene certificate also seems to help. I'll see what happens - I've got PR and media as my fallback subject if needs be.

Well, OH taking day off hasn't produced much action in the bedroom yet - on the decorating front, obviously!!!! I've come back and he isn't here and as of 2pm, he has taken a bookcase off the wall and taken the curtains and rail down. I was expecting to see the carpet pulled up by now! I'm guessing he will appear again towards the end of the day and decide to start pulling up carpet as I'm trying to do dinner (and expect me to help at the same time!)
