Required: Someone Important At Northern Rock

Hi Folks

I'm on a DMP with Payplan, at present I am receiving constant harassment calls from Northern Rock.

I sent them the harassment letter re "Administration Of Juctice Act 1970" 2 months ago by recorded delivery which has been signed for.

As I say they are still calling me several times a day, I now want to send a letter to someone important at Northern Rock to get them to understand, their constant telephone calls are having an effect on my health.

I have previously suffered a nervous breakdown, and this constant harassment is starting to get to me.

I have spoken to the OFT, they state they are unable to deal with individual cases.

Does anyone have a name & address for someone high up the ladder at Northern Rock please?

Many thanks in advance.

Write to them refering them to your DMP manager and telling them not to contact you personally either be post or phone tell them that all communication must be through your DMP.

Ron Sandler is the executive Chairman and NR's address is
    Northern Rock plc
    Northern Rock House,

You could look at registering a complaint to the following. In the meantime if you do receive any further phone calls make a note of them i.e. date, time persons name etc then you have a log for your own records.

The Information Commissioners Office, Complaints page: http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints.aspx

    Good Luck

I presume you mean in reference to something along the lines of this. :)

Whether the account is with the original creditor or not if you request your telephone number to be removed from your account and request a creditor contacts you only by post they are obliged, by the Data Protection Act, to do so. You need to make this request in writing and send it special delivery mentioning that if they do not remove your number that they will be in breach of the DPA and you will report it to the Information Commissioner. If they do not do as you ask you can make a complaint to them, again mentioning the DPA and Information Commissioner, and if they still continue to call then report it.

Harassment, unfortunately, is subjective, and there are only really guidelines, so I think you need to approach this from a DPA angle. But do keep a log of the calls they make in the meantime to give more sway to your complaint if you need to make it. You could also get call barring from your telephone provider to stop the anonymous calls, if they provide that service for free.

Your creditors do need to have contact details for you, but an address is all they need. If they have anything important to tell you they need to do it in writing anyway, as do you to them. You need to know what is going on with your debt and who is collecting it at any given time, so the payments go to the right place.

I've just had a another call from NR, I asked the employee if he has heard of "Mr Ron Sandler" he said no :rotfl: I inforned the caller who Mr Sandler was and that I have sent a letter to him regarding the continious telephone harassment from NR, I asked the employee if the call was being recorded, he said yes, I then informed him I was also recording the call, some how the line went dead, then a message "The other person has cleared, the other person has cleared"
