Do I keep my pension

I am 60 and have taken my state pension which is now approx £88 per week.

My husband retires in December when he is 65. Will I still receive my pension in my own right and likewise will he get his own pension.

The reason I ask is because of the talk of joint pensions so I am not sure what will actually happen when he retires.

If you already have been given your pension then its in your own right.. so it will continue as such .. he will be given his own pension in his own right when he reaches 65.. so you are safe :rotfl:

I believe that its only if you are claiming on your husbands contributions that you have to wait for him to reach 65 .. I could be corrected of course.....

Yes, you will each have your own pensions.

There is no such thing as a joint pension. What people mean by that is that the husband gets a pension when he is 65 and then the wife who has not paid enough NI to get one of her own is awarded 60% based on his contributions.
