I pay £3.50 per fortnight for a window cleaner so can I list an extra £7 per month for that? And also my garden is done by a gardener every 3 months and that costs £40 so thats £13.33 a month as well would they see that as an extravagance?0

Cleaning, gardening and ironing services are not classed as essential, but you could try and put the amounts under housekeeping.0 -
I don't want to sound off but can't you get the bus when you go shopping? I get the bus everywhere, even shopping, I can't afford taxi's, the only time I'll get a cab is late at night when I need to get home and there are no buses.
I think the gardener is a bit of an extravagance, can't you do it yourself instead of going to the gym? Also getting the windows cleaned... I've lived here for a year and not got mine cleaned all that time as I can't afford the £17 they charge (I live in a flat within a big house of 4 stories with bay windows).
It seems you need to work out what is essential and what's not, because for me these things aren't essential for me to live comfortably.

Thanks Miss Muppet
I guess what I'm scared of is missing anything essential out or getting it wrong. I'm getting so nervous for tomorrow now.0 -
I find it difficult to do my shopping then get the bus btw as there's still a bit of a walk involved. I don't think £3 is a huge amount to get home each week I hope not anyway!0

I'm sure it will be fine, and the OR won't have access to your bank account to see what you're spending your money on... just remember this is just a statement of your affairs, you don't have to stick with it!

Good luck for tomorrow!0 -
Thank you!!! I'll let you all know how it goes!0

hi, i did the income/expenditure thing and my OR said that i hadnt reallly thought out my form. She was surprised i could feed us 4 on £60 pr week and said i think youve madde a mistake and altered the form for me. We were allowed £90 per week. And as i had teenagers clothing was set at £100 pr month. I think it all depends on who you chat too. Just be honest on your form. You might be able to keep the gym membership if you get a note from your doctor saying its for health reasons, and youve forgotten to list dentists/prescriptions fees.Good Luck with your BR keep us all posted
