Credit Report Question

Hello there, newbie who is really enjoying the forum so far.
A quick run down of my situation. I have a UK address and a "foreign" EU address. I would like to check my credit report online with Experian, Equifax and the other one (which name slips my mind at the moment, is it Call Credit? As a sidenote does Call credit have an online credit record service?).
I only have a "foreign" EU credit card and not a UK one. I would like to use this "foreign" EU credit card to pay for the CRA's online credit record service.
However I dont want my "foreign" EU address to show up on my UK credit record so I would only be querying my UK address with the CRA's.
I'm doing this as I don't want to be hassled at my "foreign" EU address whilst I'm paying off my UK debts.
Of course my "foreign" EU credit card is registered at my "foreign" EU address therefore wont this address be available to the CRA's when they charge my CC?
So onto my question, if I use the "foreign" EU credit card to pay the CRA's will my "foreign" EU address show up on my Credit Record and/or be available to my creditors? Even if I don't give my "foreign" EU address on the application form?

I don't think there is any link between accounts and credit cards you have in different EU countries. I'm from Holland and still have a bank account, overdraft and credit card there. These are registered with the Dutch equivalent of Experian, but my Dutch address and accounts don't show on my UK credit reports (they can only link UK addresses). I don't know if this is going to change in the future though, especially because there are talks about liberalising the European market for personal finance (so you can apply for a European mortgage).
Even if you pay with a foreign credit card, the information on the report depends on what the bank provides to the agency, so I can't imagine the foreign credit card provider sends this information to Experian.0 -

Thanks for the reply Dutchgirl. Have you ever used your Dutch credit card (I presume registered to a Dutch address) to pay a UK credit reference agency though?0 -
No I haven't. Paying with a foreign credit card is only a problem for me if the billing address has to be in the UK, or if the billing address has to be the same as the address on the credit report. I only have problems using a Dutch credit card when I book flights with British Airways, or when I buy things on the Internet that have to be delivered to the billing address, which is obviously not in the UK. The websites will probably mention it if this is the case.
Good luck0 -

Aha, thanks for that update DG. However I was under the impression that when you check your credit report, that fact that your credit report has been checked is included in your credit report.
Additionally is your current address (even if its a foreign one) displayed on your credit report?
Apologies, but I've never checked a credit report before, this is going to be my first time, and I'm worried about "showing my hand" so to speak.or if the billing address has to be the same as the address on the credit report
Is this the case with Experian and Equifax?0 -
I just had a look at my Experian report online. It shows searches by "credit expert report", the online system for Experian. This is based on the address information that I provided and I guess they check whether this matches electoral roll information. The report includes my current address and previous addresses, but it doesn't include any foreign addresses or accounts. I'm not sure whether it's necessary to have a UK credit card, but you'll find out when you start the sign-up process.
Maybe there is someone else who knows more about the sources of information used by the agencies?0 -
Hmm I'm not on the electoral register at my UK address, I wonder if this will hinder my ability to get an online credit report0

Thanks I'll give it a try.0
