GCSE Art materials

Yesterday son presented me with list of materials required for GCSE Art. To be returned Before the end of last term, if we wanted to buy the 'art kit' from school!
Now faced with running round trying to get him kitted out.
Does anyone know places where I can get decent quality materials at discount prices. I know that 'The Works' discount book outlets do art stuff but no too sure what kind of quality they are.
Thanks, Alison

whsmiths had an offer on their sketching pencils - which are always excellent..
lidl had some really well priced pencils and felt tips - they seemed good quality too..
Quality Save had cheap acrylics - acrylics do vary in quality but cheap ones are fine for GCSE..
Cass ART on Berwick Street in London (just off oxford st) is EXCELLENT!! it's the best place to buy stuff but if you're not going to london then it's not much use - they have other london stores too.. They do good quality acrylics for 90p a tube rather than about £5.. whenever I go down I stock up.. they do other bargains too. their website is https://www.cassart.co.uk0 -
Partners (the stationery shops found in most high streets) are doing three for two on all their art materials. The actual paints are not good quality but everything else is OK.
If you want top class art materials you can't get better prices than:
www.jacksonart.com They do charge for postage if the order is below £35 but maybe you could team up with other parents.Born to shop;)0 -
I bet your son isn't the only one to have done this - he would probably still be able to get the kit through school, especially if you write a nice letter to the Art Department.......[0

Hi WH SMITH have got a really good half price offer on some of their sketch pads PLUS some of their art sets .I got an acrylic and watercolour box set for £12 roughily and a general paint set. These are in the art section and you might need to look for them, but plenty there.I was shopping around and their offer was good and im very happy with the quality - it should do your son for the year, plus they are in a nice wooden box. Also Bargain books have their art stuff discounted at moment too.0
