Oops - fundamental error. Some of those payments had already hit our account so the actual debt figure before these windfalls was even higher than I calculated! :o

But it at least it is now down to under the £18K I originally thought it was!

And I know what I am dealing with and can move forward - DFD Feb 2009!

:mad::mad: What is it they say .. the lord giveth and the lord taketh away..? Well I don't know about the lord but the post came this morning and with it a bill from the garage for repairing my car - £990!! I was expecting it to be bad (engine needed a complete overhaul) but was hoping it would be less than that! Too late to get a new 0% card so will have to put it on my o/d - damn damn damn!

OK - rant over. Will be grown up about it. At least the unexpected royalty cheque covers it so I am no worse off than I was before both!

But a little silver lining - have added it to my snowball and it doesn't affect my DFD! Yeah! Still on course.

    Hi Mizmir,

Good luck on your new challenge. I'm quite new on here so didn't see you first time round anyway.

Re the MB. I developed a bit of of a gambling problem and stayed away from this for a few weeks. Have went into my old accounts today and found over £100 in VC, skybet, and BF:j :j .

Took it out then closed ALL ACCOUNTS self excluded myself from those that allowed it............for 5 years:D :D:D . Will NEVER NEVER NEVER gamble again:D :D:D

MB is great if you have the discipline not to mug bet, unfortunately I didnt as I seen the BF bal growing, but I sincerely wish you well with this. Will look forward to reading your diary.

    Good Luck!!!!!

    Hi ITBS

You're right - the MB thing only works if you don't try mug betting. To be honest it is not something that appeals to me so I feel OK doing the matched betting - most I ever do is a flutter on the National and that makes me feel guilty! :o

But I have hit a snag with my matched betting.... I did quite a bit till about July last year - but then stopped as I didn't have a lot of free time. Now I have realised that all my spreadsheets and records were on my old laptop which died last autumn with no recent backup and no chance of data recovery!

So I am missing all my user name and password information - and worse - my OH's (I did a lot in her name too). So am going to have to trawl round all the sites and see if I can remember enough to see if I have an account there!! Never ever will I not back up again! :o:rolleyes:

Still on the bright side (since Taxi always manages to see one! :) ) I have found £8.29 in loose change and 90 canadian dollars that I can exchange lying about the house , and had work pay for my last 24 hours of meals so it has not been a bad day really.
