How can I make my bread less crusty?

I've been mking bread for a few months now but it always comes out quite crusty, the recipe I follow tells me to cook it at 230c for 25 minutes, if I lower the temperature a bit will this make it less crusty?

to keep my rolls soft I wrap them in a cloth as soon as they come out of the oven. You could try that.
Using some milk as part of the liquid might help too.0 -
Cool it with a butter paper on top and a clean towel doubled and draped over (or brush with butter, marg or oil, put greaseproof paper on top and then the towel,or just wrap it in the towel) but still on a wire cooling rack. Stopping the steam escaping so quickly softens the crust, and so does fat.0

I brush mine with margarine as soon as they come out of the oven and it does soften the crust considerably“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Reduce the salt slightlyLets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0

I take it out of the machine imediately, cool it on a cooling rack with a clean tea towel thrown over and put it in the (Lakeland) breadkeeper as soon as it cools.0

damp tea towel - softens the crust when bread comes out of the oven - wrap the whole loaf on it for a softer loaf0

I put a bowl of water in the bottom of the oven, which therefore creates steam, and seems to lessen the hardness of the crust.
I also, put a little flour on the top of the loaf, pre-cooking.
When I take the loaves out of the oven, I place them on a wire rack and cover with a tea towel, which again helps.
For rolls, I substitute half of the water for milk.
