the two houses - the Tudor House with the yew hedges is Packwood house while the nearby manor with the stewponds is Baddesley Clinton Hall. Packwood House ...... Only two miles away is the National Trust property of Baddesley Clinton. At Baddesley Clinton you will find stewponds.

1. Baddesley Clinton Hall

2. W H Auden (he wrote The Night Mail)

Wystan Hugh Auden was born 21 February 1907

    Hi

    Agree with your answers:

Tudor House with ancient yew hedge - Packwood House, Lapworth
Moated medieval house - Baddesley Clinton

Not sure about the 1668 clue - Sir Christopher Wren was appointed to a similar sounding role but my search showed this as 1669 -did not find a local connection.

Robert Catesby of the Gunpowder Plot has a tomb in Lapworth Church - he was born in the village.

John Wyndham 1903-1969 (Day of the Triffids 1951) Born Knowle near Solihull.

1901 author - could not find

W H Auden born York 1907 but family moved to Harborne, Birmingham. Work is the 'Night Mail'

    ---

    Best of luck to everyone
