With regards to the howcashforgold site - I think that may be spam too... If the bbc had them on the news, it would have only been for about 20 seconds or so... just sounds too salesey to me...
The BBC had them on the news, okay for about a minute, but what's wrong with that! I'm sure the BBC did the research and wouldn't just approach any random company. I think that’s fair comment, no? It did contribute to my decision; if you don't believe me, see the BBC link for yourself www.howcashforgold.co.uk.
Best advice, check all the sites seen here, then go to your local jewellers and try and haggle with them a good price based on the net prices. That way you know you are not being ripped off!
I agree about checking all the sites. My point was that they seemed to be on the ball with the gold quotes. I actually went to my local jewellers, but they weren't interested in bartering, they assumed I didn't know the true value of my gold and just wanted to pressure me into a cheap sale.
My advice: Check the sites, compare the quotes. You’ll quickly be able to tell a rip-off merchant from the fair-price brigade.
gravy1nt: I don't appreciate my post being referred to as spam. I was merely passing on my personal experience. as Tesco say: every little helps(and before you ask I don't represent Tesco either!!)
