Bounced direct debit, overdraft & credit reports

I was wondering whether Equifax and Experian keep track of bounced direct debit payments and unauthorised overdrafts. I have a bank account with Natwest and one direct debit payment bounced last month because I have huge in- and outflows associated with buying a house. They sent me a letter detailing the charge and also said that it could affect my bank account (I presume direct debits and debit card). As far as I know, this has only happened to me twice, but I'm a bit worried about my account and credit status.

Not an expert on this, but I do have a Natwest account and this happened to me once - I rang them up and said I had micalculated (there was enough to cover the debit minus about 80p!) and they said because I hadn't done it before they would waive the charges and presumably, it wouldn't show up on my credit reports either? Not sure about this - in the end all I ended up paying was a small interest charge for the four days I was unauthorised-ly overdrawn.
Maybe worth a try ringing them up and explaining the situation to them - if it's not a regular thing they might be flexible this one time, and if you don't ask, of course, you won't get?

in my experience bounced direct debtis dont show up on credit report and dont really do anything to your account if we are talking about an odd one. If it happens to me i ALWAYS write and get the charges refunded infact I had one this morning so that saved me 28 quid with the Nat west:EasterBun ...what more do I need to say?!
