Where could I bulk buy good eating apples

Hi everyone

Just wondering where I cold bulk buy fruit, potatoes etc from, good ones though if that makes sense.

I went shopping other day and bought 3 bags of Tesco's little eaters, I bought value potatoes and 2 bags of value bananas.

I still think this is expensive but cheaper than Netto's etc. I don't have any Asian supermarkets near by though there are markets but they seem to be dearer :confused::confused:

I'd appreciate any advice please as I have 6 little ones to feed lol

Thank you :beer::beer:

    Do you have any markets (like sunday markets) near you ? The one we go to has a huge fruit & veg stall & they will sell the catering size bags that they buy to you at a reasonable cost
    ie i bought a 25kilo sack of baking potatoes for £6 a monthor so ago
    I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I Know

    Check out your nearest farmshop. I can get 20kg of spuds for £4 (not such a good buy at the moment as the old potatoes are getting sprouty -but great through autumn and winter). I also buy my apples from my local farmshop which is a fruit grower. They sell 4lb bags(8-10 apples) for £1.40 -£1.60 all year round. The apples are imported mostly at the moment, but from August to March they are the farm's own. We get through about 4 bags a week -the kids love them.

    To find your nearest farmshop go to big barn.

    I'd go with above. Alot of the fruit (tho not all) at Costco for example is more expensive than you would pay in a supermarket. So I wouldn't necessarily go to a wholesalers.

    Aldi always have special offers on fruit and veges (6 specific items each month are 49p) See website for this month's choice.....

    Until very recently I've been getting bags of 8+ Red Delicious apples from Netto for 99p - they were utterly divine, but it looks like they've finished with them for now. Really sweet and juicy they were, no wooly ones at all.

    I've never been able to fault any of the fruit and veges I've bought from Netto or Aldi.
    Local market can be cheap, but much too far away from parking to carry heavy bags unfortunately, otherwise I would use it more.
