in Cutting tax
Hello
As a supporter of the cause I would like to tell you about HM Customs keeping my money and earning interest.
I take home approx £200 a week and my tax return for 06/07 showed that i had overpaid income tax by £99.26.
I was informed of this in January this year. The letter said the amount "...will be repaid after any other amounts you owe us have been cleared."
Now 3 months later I had not received this amount. I called and they said "your account is in credit" and "Would you like the money paid back?"
Unbelieveable!
Can they not work out that amount is equivalent to half my weeks earnings?
Please can you inform fellow supporters of the cause to check if their "account".
Many thanks and keep up the good work.

I think you'll find that you always have to apply for refunds or they'll take it into account in you next year coding.0

There is a box on one page of the return - the whole form changes this year- where you can tick to request refund if you have overpaid. If you have a return this year make sure you tick this box and if you do have a refund you should get it back without asking, but it doesn't always work!Lost 2 stone 12.5lbs since February 2011. :j0
