OMG
Phone R&R, enter the PSP catalogue number (567/6587) and check stock levels at your local store. It was IN STOCK at my local store and even better it let me reserve one, for pickup until the end of business THIS SATURDAY (It didn't say "You can collect this 1st September" etc
)
The only thing that stops me going down and actually trying to carry out the transaction is the fact I wanted to buy it with a games bundle, which ISN'T in stock at the moment
But I'm sure one of you will try!
Remember...This is the console Sony don't want UK users getting their hands on until next Thursday.

£179.99, like every other retailer in the UK

I can remember people paying £300 to import these from Japan

He He, nice one m8.
First store I tried no stock, second one Yep!
Now, do I go and wake up Junior and tell him he might be able to get one tomorrow am!!!!
Decisions, decisions.
(PS mine's only held until COB tomorrow)
Cheers,

Try and process the transaction during a busy period (Shouldn't be too hard as the new catalogue sale is on). As long as the till dosen't flash anything up it should be pretty easy

You could also try the Quick Pay kiosk if your store has them

heh I got mine from Japan back in December 2004 for just over £100. That was the retail price for the standard pack. The value pack was around £140 I believe.
It's such a sad state of affairs that almost a year later it comes out in the UK for £40 more :mad:0 -
Does not work i tried about 5 stores and not available,so i dont think you will get such item and im sure its against the law to take out an item before its out?Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

What?!?!? How can it be against the law to buy an item from a shop which is essentially what you would be doing. Fact of the matter is the PSP is "out". They just release it to suppliers early but tell them not to sell any before a set release date. If they do then that is a civil matter between the supplier (Sony) and the retailer (Argos). There is NO comeback against the consumer at all!!!

has any actually got this to work??
I have reserved one at the closest store that has one in stock, but its an hour and a half drive and dont wanna go there and be bitterly disappointed when i get turned away.
I have a reservation code, but am still dubious as the website claims that the item cannot be reserved......0 -
just spoke to a friend who tried this at the old street store and apparently they wouldnt sell it as there is a notice on the screen when inputing the catalogue number instructing staff not to sell it until 1st september.

You won't be able to buy one in store. The Stock system has configured this item so it cant be sold. The official Launch Date is the 1st of Sept. You can reserve the item but can't buy it. If A Store sells it to a customer then Argos may lose future allocations of the PSP.0
