does anyone know of a a way to get cheap tickets for live bands?

Firstly, contact the venue where the band is playing.
Secondly, check local independent music shops, they may sell the tickets you want with a minimal handling fee.
Thirdly, depending what venue the band is playing, another local venue may sell tickets on their behalf. Sometimes universities sell tickets via the local town or city hall.
