If it's a stand alone DVD recorder (type you put under the TV) you need to finalise them before they can be read on other playersWelcome, rogerramjet.

Does your DVD recorder use DVD-RAM discs? If it does, your DVD player on your computer may not recognise this format. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

To all who replied.
I've just managed to record onto a dvd+rw and it's worked. It might be that they only record onto rw.
I'm going to have another go using all rw.
Thanks for helping a dippy!

Me again
I've recorded onto a dvd+rw. When I look at it on the pc it's a dvd_vr. It opens as a video_ts vob. I've tried all sorts to make it an mpeg to edit but no luck.
Any ideas

or this one which lists the Vob to Mpeg ones...
