What don't you like about it? Taste, texture? If it's the taste, you could try adding some more seasoning - I'm guessing maybe it's a bit cabbagey? Or, if it's the texture you could try adding some red lentils, that'll thicken it up and add a bit of flavour as well.

Failing that you maybe you could freeze it in portions, and then when you defrost it you could add some more veggies and more tinned toms, and turn it into a pasta sauce?

ummm its just not what i would eat as a soup .. if that makes sence its almost like it should be a sauce! .. the cabbage actually doesnt taste that strong and its more tomatoey than anything ...

    Hope this makes sence lol

I made a soup the other week - red lentil and sweet potato. It's a really thick soup, tastes quite nice.... but it looks like a bowl of sick - even liquidised it still looks like sick :rotfl:

Adding a small amount to pasta sauce or bolognaise sauce was about as much as I could come up with (it's in the freezer still) :o

To be honest, if you don't like it, you need to ask yourself if it's worth freezing it and keeping it, only to end up chucking it at a later stage. If it's salvageable, then do try and make something of it, but only if you think it's worth it - we all have culinary disasters sometimes!

  • i would probably brown off some beef and make a casserole or sausages would probably go well in with it with a bit of mash.

Thanks ... it is a lovely consistancy .. I was wondering if i could do meatballs with the sauce and bake in the oven with cheese ontop and do it with pasta? ...

What do you think? ... or could add sausages and have with a jacket spud! .. I have to say it is very similar to a bolognaise sauce!

Try it in lasagne as this will dilute the taste whilst jazzing it up with the cheese sauce and pasta ;)
