CCA request for Gas?

Hi, are you able to request a CCA for Gas? We have a debt with British Gas from 99-03 basically we received no bills and couldnt find out who supplied us. We never signed anything while we lived there. I have been paying this debt for about 2 years to Intrum Justitia.

No, CCA are not relevant for utility companies (as far as I understand). Are you disputing the debt. How did they know how long you lived there. Why don't you see what CAB have to say. How much do you owe?

We stupidly phoned them as we received a "welcome back to british gas" letter a couple of weeks before we moved house. They claimed we owed £1500 but we said that was rubbish, after several years and energywatch involvement we got it down to £672. Which is still too much considering we only had hot water, a gas cooker and a gas fire in the front room.

For 4 years of gas that sounds cheap to me, my bill is £200 per quarter. So, can you make an arrangement to pay them anything?

We are paying it back by monthly instalments its just one of those debts that are annoying. There was no central heating in the old house at todays prices it would have been £10 per month.

I dont know your family or property size etc but that seems expensive for gas, our winter bill this year was £130 which was expensive for us, in summer we are £10 per month.
