They would put a charge of about £14,000 not £1,000, the £1,000 is what i would have to raise in cash for full and final settlement !

But surely if you owe the money, and you have the equity, you should be willing to pay the debt?

We lost our business last year and we put £50,000 on our mortgage to repay our debts, so please dont accuse me of trying to get away with paying anything. Most businesses go bust never paying there creditors, we did pay all that was owing, and can sleep easy knowing this. The debt from this flat was down to Citibank selling the flat for far less than it was worth, and if you read my previous notes you will see a hefty insurance was also paid, so why should they get the full amount owing.

    Because you incurred the debt!

I am sorry that things have become difficult for you, but you made the debt, and therefore I see no reason why you should not pay it off.

Citibank sold *your husband's* house because *your husband* did not keep to the terms and conditions which he agreed. You may not like the terms and conditions of mortgages or insurances but that's not Citibanks problem.

You are probably right discontinuing the discussion - there isn't one. Your husband owes money and your husband has assets which could pay it.
