I don't see what the fuss is about she can't afford to buy somewhere else with 13k or 7k, so she should in deed be grateful for anything at all...Lightbulb Moment - March 2004

Maybe she is just out to get as much as she can, maybe the fact that she had to leave what was the family home has upset her, maybe she will hold out for 13k whatever the property is worth, maybe she will refuse to sign the mortgage papers until she gets what she wants.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. She's out to get as much as she can definately and there is no point in her holding out for 13k because in the current market the price is only likely to drop at present
She want's money and she wants money now AND She wasn't forced to leave she walked out without a care in the world and took 90% of his possesions with her (and it was the 5th time she'd walked....) none of which he has asked for back.
I know this is true because I've known my partner for over 20 years
she's already signed the paperwork to agree that she is aware that she is being removed from the mortgage everything else is being dealt with via a solicitor ie once the mortgage company lend the money to my OH solicitor it's a done deal she's off everything ... my OH is borrowing on an effectively new mortgage in order to buy her off the deeds.Lightbulb Moment - March 2004

Sounds like the amount had been agreed and now the valuation has come in lower she is reluctant to lower her price. Seems like the ball is in her court if you are desparate to sort things out quickly. Maybe your choice is to take an unsecured loan elsewhere to help pay her off or to hold out a bit longer.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
