Dried flowers..

Seeing as we are getting married on a cruise ship the flowers are going to have to be dried as never going to survive the time onboard! also the ship is SO expensive i really don't want to pay out for them and they don't appear to do our colour!
So have nay of you had dried arrangements? if so were they any good..roughly how much? any good places to look at?
Thanks

I don't know about dried flowers, but there are loads of realistic looking silk ones around nowadays. I've done my bridesmaids bouquets with white roses from dunelm and threaded through wires with beads on that look like little crystals. I think they look good (and I'm usually my biggest critic!) and cost less than £6 each...

Have you thought about getting foam flowers? I have brought mine for my wedding as i didn't want my flowers to only last a day or 2, i got my bouquet, 2 bridesmaid bouquets, 2 girls wands, 2 corsages, 1 double buttonhole, plus guest buttonholes for under £100, they are gorgeous, and i added diamonte pins to all the roses, it will be a lovely reminder of the day and they look sooo real!!

Where did you get those from k8te, was it ebay or shop, also I have seen those diamonte pins, they look really nice, do you just push them in to the flowers.

My last experience of dried flowers was doing crafts in the guides (a long time ago) and I just remember not getting them home safely, they were so brittle the leaves and petals fell off very easily, I was covered in dried flower dust by the time I got home! I'm not sure if they would last well if you were travelling, but maybe flower trying technology has changed! Might be worth getting a few and seeing if they can stand up to much before you spend lots of time and effort on making bouquets - carry them round the house!
Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:

The flowers were £4.99 and the crystals were £1.99 for 5 strands from Dunelm and the wire butterflies were from eBay.

Hi i got them from a shop on Ebay called - White Ribbons Wedding Flowers, i was going to buy from Sarah's Flowers, but i found this shop cheaper and she was very flexible, and she had the flower colours i wanted, the sugar almond collection. Yes with the pins i just put them in the middle of the rose's x hite Ribbons Wedding Flowers
