Feeling depressed again

  • Just to add a bit about shopping! i went to Aldi's this morning and spent £9.81. They have certain fruit and veg for 49p. I got cereal for my son for 99p. Ham slices 49p. 10 eggs 85p etc...

After years of not thinking about what i spent at the shops i now quite enjoy finding bargains. I was also amazed when i think back at how much food i actually threw away as out of date etc!
  • Thankyou soo much everyone. I read all your emails in great depth.

Its so nice to have ppl out there care about me. My friends dont know how much debt we're in, well they know we arent rich. GOt one car which is 10 yrs old and we are the only family who rents a house instead of in our own home :( ALso I cant to go afford to socailise like they do :*(

I will check out all the boards and sites you suggest.

Went to SAinsburys (I find it cheapest there too!) this morning and it was ttoo busy so I wasnt stressed out too much. MAnage to spend £34 (budget was £30) so was well impressed as kids wanted a bag of sweets and a drink each so that took it slightly over :)

Off to battle that pile of ironing now whilst I pop the kids on a video.

Wish me luck about asking for more hours at work tonight :)

Oh, what are clickys?? I havent heard of these? Anyone help? Sounds great.

  • Hi hun,

Hope you're ok...sorry to hear you've been so down *hugs*
I know exactly how you feel...we're into our 2nd month in a new house and I feel like all our money has gone somewhere - shame I don't really know where.

I'm sick of living on a shoestring and being so OCD about certain things...just wish something would go right for once.

On a good note, my grandparents are taking my twin brothers on holiday in August and have offered to pay for my flight so I can go out there for a few days. All I need to do is find some spends, get my annual leave authorised at work, get some summer clothes and arrnage for someone to look after OH while I'm away... EEK!!!

Anyhoo...as I said, I know how you feel so if you ever need to chat, my MSN name is on here or PM me.

Hi, There are lots of people in the same boat. I do feel for you and Im in exactly the same position myself, If you dont keep your chin up you'll go under.

Its crap, I hate the way I have to live, but reading about other people on here and chatting about things does honestly help.

It doesnt solve everything but ive picked up loads of tips from here that have helped a little bit. Even other peoples support gives you a little boost.

I always think if the impossible happens and I become rich Ill still be like scrooge with the purse strings. ITS ALL CHARACTER BUILDING.

Keep your head held high Sugarpants and tomorrow is another day. Good luck with work. Sorry I cant give you much advice being in the same situation and all that but one thing you can rely on is the people on here are always great listeners or readers as the case maybe.
  • Well Im back.Feeling slightly chirpier today as work did give me lots of overtime! So next pay packet should be a nice one. Also DH is going to work every Saturday too (normally does every other Sat).
Thanks for all you lovely posts it really does help.
Is there anyone on here that rents? Is it just me but does renting always put a downer on your life? Id be soo much happier living in my own bricks and mortar and decorating my house with my own taste. Living surrounded by magnolia and bland walls makes me feel crap :(

Anyone else tell me about the clicks I can do to make some cash too?

  • Hey Sugar

Glad you are feeling a bit better this morning, I know how you feel I wake up most mornings at the mo with a knot in my stomach dreading what the postman might bring or who will phone. But then I think I have a wonderful wife, 2 fantastic kids and they don't desrve a dad who looks glum, so it is a brill idea to think of the positives and keep them pictured in your mind. We can only take one day at a time and these probs are only blips in the general scheme of things.
Re the renting, I have actually thought of selling home and renting just so I can get rid of those debts. As you said the thought of going thru a day when you are not thinking of how i can pay for this or that sound like heaven. But then I am worried as to the effect that going down that route would have on the rest of the family, and again they do not deserve to be put thru that.

Anyway i'm waffling, remember we can all help each other, this site is great for that.

    All the best
