New Tesco Deals Brochure - what's going on??

Picked up the new Tesco Clubcard Deals brochure instore today, valid Aug 05 to Feb 06, and the Deals on offer seem to have reduced somewhat. Most importantly, NO MORE HOLIDAYS - UK or abroad  . Having just started collecting in earnest, with the Organic and beef offers, I do feel a bit peeved. Does anyone know any more about this? Is the in-store booklet an abridged version of a bigger one that registered Deals collectors will get with their statement, or is this really the way ahead? Perhaps the fact that the x4 Deals have suddenly become less attractive might explain why there's been an increase in bonus points offers lately?
Anyway, the only offers in the brochure now are Tussaud Group entrance tickets, mfi, Blockbuster, Purple Parking (at airports), magazine subscriptions, restaurant vouchers for Cafe Rouge, Yates's, Bella Italia and Ha!Ha!, Hilton and Marriott hotels, BSM, RAC membership, and Air Miles. And that's it - all laid out nicely in the usual 24-page brochure, but now an excellent example of style over substance

Well you had me very worried as I've only just realised the benefits of saving vouchers for deals and I want to take my little girl to Disney World in 2008.
I have just been onto the Tescos website and checked the deals and it still shows:
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines
Neilson Active Holidays
Cresta
Bridge
Cosmos
Tradewinds
French Life
Shearings
Leger Holiday
Drifters
Butlins
British Holidays
and Haven

Thanks mossy. But why aren't these offers in the printed brochure any more, I wonder? They always have been before. Hopefully it's not simply a case of the website being out of date... I too had my sights set on Disney for the kids!0

I picked up one of the thinner brocheres in store but got sent a thicker one with the hols in. I have previously took a coupon in store asking to be sent the deal brocher. don't no if this is why. But all the above are def online so I wouldn't worry.
I have had my very annoyed dad on the phone tonight. I told him about the beef offer and he has been out everyday buying it up for a summer holiday next year.
Well today he phoned Cosmos to just check that they will take whole payment in vouchers. He went through a few holidays that he had seen and they had no availability. He did this with a few countries and when he finally found one that was not fully booked the guy on phone quoted him £200 more that brochere price.
My Dad very upset coz he can book a holiday with another company for much less than Cosmos anyway.
Do you think they are putting extra price on when they know you paying with deals tokens or are we just being paranoid?
I used Leger this summer to go to Disneyland Paris with no problems and have also phoned Bridge to ask availabilty on a break out of the Amsterdam travel services brochere again, this appears to be trouble free.
I am really worried now, coz bro also saving for an all inclusive holiday in Cyprus next summer.
I am going to be very unpopular if they can't get anything0 -
checked out the website and the wine and the flowers will be going after October 2005, shame as the wine is a fantastic deal.

I get the impression that some of these holiday companies are more expensive and you can find others for cheaper but then obviously they don't take the vouchers. I hope with all my heart that they are still doing the holidays by the time I take munch to Disney World, well if they don't I'll use some of the points for airmiles for the flights and spend the rest on a new kitchen and use the kitchen money towards the holiday....or something like that. Still its a long way away and theres no point worrying about it, I'm sure it will all work out lovely jubblySaving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0

We used our clubcard vouchers to travel with Eurotunnel in July. The cost quoted was more expensive by using the Tesco vouchers than it would have been booking direct with ET and paying cash. We had to pay an extra £68 in cash. However we would have had to pay a lot more than £68 cash if we hadn't used them. So although the holidays are more expensive if you are using your clubcard vouchers you are still gaining........................aren't you? Possibly best thing to do is ring and ask the price using the vouchers (which is what I did) and then you can work out how many you need that way. You might not save as much as you hoped but it will cheaper in the long run.0

Mossy, don't rely on clubcard points still being around in 2008. Loyalty points schemes change constantly. The original Barclaycard points, for instance, were great and gave me several free airfares in the beginning. These were then replaced by Nectar points (which are not worth anything as much - and which I have yet to find anything worthwhile to spend them on) and now as from next week Barclaycard will not be issuing any points at all!0

also as these current deals are only til Feb 2006, when your change your clubcard tokens for days out vouchers, these are only valid until Feb 2006 too
i thought, you would at least get a years use when you changed them, but as i have just found out to my cost you dont - i now have £120 of days out tokens to use within the next 6m, and when you consider alot of the places to visit, are outdoor so more suited to dry weather, or have restricted opening hours during the winter, im going to find it a real pita to use them all
so only change small amounts at a time, and as close to the time you want to visit, as possible
