    Hi tazz,

There's an earlier thread on making croissants so I've added your thread to it to keep the recipes together.

Can I show off my homemade croissants? :p

I made them using the Brioche recipe from Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes and then layering in some butter.
It was done very unscientifically and given the fact I was very lazy about it I am very pleased with the results. With a bit more care they would have been very flaky.
They were very yummy as they were though.

  • Its not quite the same dough so they would be crispier than croissants, you could make danish pastries from it though ;)

    Hi

Yes. They're called and Croissants de Patissier (made by a pastry chef rather than a baker. Found in The King Arthur Flour Baker's Companion:))

in short no - coissants are made with a yeasted dough, as are danish pastries

  • Technically no (as mentioned above) but Nigella makes "cheat's chocolate croissants" using puff pastry and while the texture doesn't quite match a true croissant, they're still delicious.
