Missold Endownment

Hi

I hope someone can shed some light on my problem. We have claimed that we were missold our endownment. This claim has been dragging on for a number of years now. The company who advised us no longer trade but have a financial advisor handling complaints. The advisor has been helpful thoughout and has agreed we had been given the wrong advise.

He recently sent the claim to the ombudsman and we have now been told that eventhough we didnt get our mortgage until May 1988 the advice was given in February 1988 and is therefore outside the date for regulation.

Can anyone please tell me the exact date that the regulation started and if there is anything we can possibly do.

29th April 1988 was the start date of regulation. Its the day you sign the application that matters. No the start date of the policy.

So, in your case, you are pre-regulation and unable to claim I'm afraid.

Not really what I wanted to hear but at least the date is clear now. I will check back on application date but I'm sure its probably before the 29th April.

Will just have to become an even better moneysaver !!!!
