Pension Investment Options?

My company has recently changed over to a new pension provider, Fidelity International and the policy comes with the following default investment options:

Fidelity BGI UK Equity Index Class 8 - 20%
Fidelity BGI World (ex-UK) Fund Class 8 - 15%
Fid Newton 60:40 Global Equity Fund Cls - 55%
Fid Standard Life Select Property Fd C8 - 10%

I am looking for a medium high risk option for the next 5 to 7 years, so is this a good mix for me or is it too safe?

That mix would IMO be classed at the Higher end of the Medium Risk Category

You may find stats not available on many of those funds as they appear to be institutional funds not retail funds. You can assume some are basically similar to their retail version but some may not have a retail version so you will have to look at where they invest and make a judgement.

Thanks guys, I'm going to keep an eye on their performance over the next year and then start to spread the money about to cover as many bases as possible.

Remember that performance doesnt mean you pick the ones that have done well. Look at the ones that have dropped and see if they offer value.

What growth ( if any) do you need to reach your retirement goals? Do you need to be taking a "medium high risk" option if you only have a five to seven year investment window?

This is the first company I worked for that has fairly decent provision, I contribute 5% and they add 7.5%. I'm a higher rate tax payer so it's not really costing me too much but at the moment my pension provision is quite small.

I have a window of 5 - 7 years to try and boost my pension pot before I would need to drop back to a safer position for around 10 years, well that's the plan anyway.
