Phoenix sinking into the ashes!

We changed bank accounts in February. Since then, Phoenix Insurance have resolutely refused to take our monthly premium for our ancient low cost endowment product. There are only three payments left out of the original three hundred, over twenty five years! Two phone calls have been fielded pleasantly but with no explanation as to what's going on. (Don't worry, being the general attitude.) A recorded delivery letter of eight days ago is not showing as having arrived with them as yet. (I know, could be Royal Mail conspiring against me.) Frankly, I am getting worried about my payout date of 25th June. The mortgage shortfall was always a sickener, for us and many other people I am sure. Worrying about getting anything paid out at all, is quite another order of magnitude.
Has anybody got any positive ideas on this one please?
