I am looking for any ideas on a venue for a party on 5th nov with good views of glasgow green,I want to take advantage of the fireworks display and want a venue where we could watch the fireworks from.I have already been in touch with the council re hiring peoples palace/winter gardens but they fall inside the safety exclusion zone so I cant hire the venue on 5th nov.Any other ideas.I googled glasgow green and had a look at a map, there are a couple of big buildings inside the park and one or two also facing it from the river side but I cant find the names of the buildings to check if they are suitable for renting.local knowledge appreciated.

            Hi,
Buildings around Glasgow Green are Glasgow High Court, lots of housing/flats, Glasgow Council Parks Dept Buildings, The old Templeton Carpet Factory Building - famous for fab exterior - now a business centre - and various other offices/works. Other side of the river is similar - housing / works. Can't really think of one place you could party - sorry. Maybe someone else could help? Good luck in finding something.
Just had a thought - the newish 'Merchant City' area (see St Andrews Square) may have pubs / clubs which might just be close enough. You'd need to nip outside at the critical moment and walk a hundred yards or so to see something.
 Have a look at this

Also remembered this - but not sure they can get upriver as close as you want.

Not sure how useful it would be for fireworks buti can certainly vouch for Clyde Cruiser as we were married on board last summer and had a wonderful unique sail.0

There is the West Brewery opposite the peoples palace on Glasgow Green. They are a bar/restaurant (with brewery downstairs):
