what is meet dave about?
Dave Ming Chang (Eddie Murphy), newly arrived in New York City, may be the ultimate fish out of water. Theres something about him thats not quite right for starters, he seems remarkably out of place and uncomfortable in his own body. And for good reason: Dave is not a man at all, but a ship made in the image of its miniature-sized captain (Eddie Murphy) and filled with the crew members who operate it. It's Eddie Murphy in Eddie Murphy in MEET DAVE. TM & © 2008 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. All Rights Reserved.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

haha! according to wikipedia, it's 'potentially lethal'
Are we sure, though, that the film has anything to do with the practice?
i just looked up the phrase as i couldnt understand what midian was saying and no that isnt very nice at all. The preview i saw showed a 20 something group out on a boat trip they all get drunk and someone ends up dead then all the trouble starts i had no idea what the title related to- I came, I saw, I conquered :j

Donkey Punch of the title obviously relates to what happens to one of the girls on the boat, who then obviously dies, and then it looks like it becomes a survival test of men v women. Looks like this film will intend to shock, just hope makers are prepared for the fall out by promoting such an irresponsible sexual practice. This is surely not something people need to know about and you just know there are plenty of idiots out there who will think it is cool to do this. Very worrying, had booked tickets now think will give it a miss.Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:0

I didn't even try for the tickets because I was aware of what the phrase meant - don't ask but it came up in a conversation when out with a group of people - I didn't have a clue and had to ask someone!!
If this is truly what the film is about than I for one would be pleased to hear that the screening is empty and that nobody used their tickets!!
I'm not a prude or anything but do feel that sometimes film makers go too far in their "want" to shock us.:j Member Number 18 of the "100 free films in London in 2010" club:hello:0
