Sparky61 - that's good of you to remember about f10na's request, I just remembered she was looking for tickets for Glasgow (thanks to SunPrincess too!) - she will see the one and only Russell Brand! Hope she checks in on here tonight to see it in time.

  • I have two tickets to see "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" in Odeon, Edinburgh Lothian Road, tomorrow (Tuesday 22 April) at 6:30pm. As I need to go to the practice for my society's summer trip, I can't make the screening now. So if anyone would like the tickets, please PM me your email, and I'll forward the tickets to you.
  • So how do you get to be a member of the 104 in 2008 film preview club?

    Just ask Beate!
She's on holiday right now, but I'm sure she'll agree
You'd just need to put your member number and number of free films seen this year in your sig

Yup, don't trust SFF to email you - when they do, they've probably sent the same email to nearly everyone!!
The key to getting tickets is being around when a new code is posted. That's why I'd go for email notification, and check my emails regularly.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I have registered to FMUK - so hopefully that will help.

But I couldn't work out how to get the email notifications you mentioned on MSE....can anyone help me out please?

    Thanks Again :o

    hi,
What you do is you go onto the codes thread and go to 'thread tools' on the green bar at the top of the thread and choose to subscribe to the thread. You then choose instant notification and you'll get emails each time there's a post (including the chat one unfortunately).
It's now possible to subscribe for email alerts from the free film section on FMUK but I think Wolverine might have to explain that one.

    :)

For FMUK, you need to go to the Free Films board, then click 'Subscribe forum'
You should then get notified when a new code is posted
Although you only get one, regardless of how many codes are posted, until you visit.
That's good in a few ways: one being that if you got notified for chat (tho it happens much less at FMUK) you wouldn't get loads of emails about the chat, and if you visited, say, a few hours after the email was sent, then chances are there actually is a new code. ;)

that's the same as the codes thread here, you won't get any other emails unless you have visited the codes thread after the first email...but the thing is you have to be quick and come to MSE for each email that arrives then when you do, you get an alert for practically every bit of chat.
