Dell printers....3 in 1. E: today

Dell have an offer on their 922 3 in 1 printer, from £63 which seems pretty ace. The expiry date is today.
One question though, fairly urgent for obvious reasons....does anyone know if the cartridges are chipped and can be reset. I want the printer for my daughter going to Uni., and it would seem to be a bargain?
Thanks all!!

I used an inkjet while at university, but have now moved onto laser. True, the low end lasers don't provide colour printing, but I don't need that, and for me running costs are priority. I don't know how long dell cartridges last, or how much they cost, but check that out. I used to refill my used hp inkject cartridges with variable results, most memorably resulting in extra black streaks on my printed pages. I'm now using a samsung SCX 4100 that I picked up on ebay for 80 quid. I also refilled the toner cartridge with toner bought on ebay for 5.99, and the print quality is the same as the original (as far as I can tell). Compare 5.99 with the cost of inkjet cartridges - and how many pages you can print with them.
Does your daughter really need a scanner and photocopier? Photocopier perhaps, but the inkjet 3 in 1's I've used are frustratingly slow.
For a special deal on a basic laserjet, ebuyer are selling a samsung one for 49.99 including vat:

They are basically Lexmark printers (shudder). If you look in the consumable forum you'll find some details about how to modify the printers to take Lexmark cartidges.
Lexmark and Dell cartridges aren't cheap, even the remanufactured ones.
You can get a Canon Pixma MP110 3in1 from Dabs for £55.46 + Delivery. Cheaper to run. I think it uses the same print engine as the Pixma IP1500 and IP2000 models which are supposed to be quite good and Canon's standalone scanners are good.

Dell's all-in-one's are Lexmark?

Pretty sure Dell's inkjets are all Lexmark now. Some of there laser's are Samsung (not sure if all are), bit strange as Lexmark Lasers aren't bad.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:
