I signed up for this offer last year, wasted time filling out the form and then wasted money sending the coupon off not to get anything back!!

Treat this one with care - it may be worth a punt for the cost of a second class stamp but in my experience it was a waste of time and they got all my personal details.

Forget it, over the years I have sent in vouchers, collected days and days of vouchers for free hairdo's at The Hair Company  and never ever had any reply from the company. My friend got a reply and the salon was a 90mile round trip from her!!!!!

The Hair Group, in my humble opinion promote something, that they cant manage correctly.

Despite purchasing Elle magazine, last year, cutting out the voucher, completing it correctly, actually having one of their salons in my post code, sending it off to them 1st class recorded never heard from them, despite verifying with Royal Mail that it had been signed for. I was given a telephone number from the publishers of Elle and on this 0870 number, was unable to actually speak to a real person..

Then November last year this promotion was running again, so decided (fool, i am) to give it another go; seems my luck is out or as mentioned earlier The Hair Group are as much good as a chocolate fireguard!!

And I wonder what they do with all the details collated.. maybe onto a database, then hived off to the highest direct marketing bid..doah!!

    BEWARE!!!

I was just handed a free DARE magazine on the street, it has the voucher in it, but I think I will give it a miss now after reading the above.

Why don't you try the Herbal Essences free haircut offer? You have to purchase a bottle of shampoo or conditioner but it's worth it IMO. I've done it twice now, the first salon was great but I didn't bother the second time as the salon was too far away. I've just got my third voucher and it's for the salon I went to the first time so I'm pretty chuffed.

Depending on the salon you may have to go at non peak times but you don't get given a trainee (or at least I didn't).

I don't know if there is a list of participating salons so it may be pot luck if the one you are given is handy for you.
  • There was a deal last year some time about a free haircut if you bought a certain bottle of water which had the details on etc. I sent it off and waited - all I got back was a note saying the promotions dept had encountered difficulties and they sent me a voucher with money off for various attractions in the UK - none of which I wanted.
  • I did it with the hair salon 2 years ago, it was the best I had had in my life, the salon was less than 2 miles away from me, the stylist was not a trainee, she did my hair beautifully and said that if I wanted colouring, she'd give me a 25% discount as well! For weeks afterwards, I had friends telling me how much younger I looked, so don't listen to the horror stories above, you don't know how it will pan out for you, and as someone else said, it's the price of a stamp!

On the other hand, when I sent off for the Herbal Essences one, they sent me a voucher for a salon which didn't take part in the promotion anymore and when I phoned then (on a 0870 number!) to complain, they told me to send back the voucher with a cover letter and they'd send me a new one... I did, and never heard from them again.

Just shows that what works for one might not for the next, and it's got to be worth a punt. ;)
