Hoping to buy a decent hybrid bike

Does anone have experience of buying second hand hybrid bikes, and whether there is any chance of getting a decent one for about £100?

I live in London and have tried the usual second hand websites, but there are very few bikes with the frame size I need (about 23 to 25ins). I e-mailed a couple of advertisers, but they never got back so I am assuming these kind of bikes get snapped up quickly, especially in London.

I could stretch myself to over £100 (130 max), but don't want to from the money point of view - especially since bikes are easily stolen in London. If anyone can recommend particular shops, or any other ideas I'd be grateful.

Decathlon do a decent budget range of hybrid bikes around the £150 mark if u can stretch that far.

However they also organise days were people can sell their old gym or exercise equipment to others.

It might be worth calling the shop as people generally register what they want to sell before the resell day.

Thanks. I'll look into that. Buying second hand seems to be a nightmare in terms of finding out whether people are trading or possibly selling stolen bikes.
