Just wanna say this is my first post so go easy on me.
Also want to I will be debt free (bar my car loan in July 2008). This is £16-18k debt I had at the end of 2004. I had this major problem at the age of 21 but by my 25th birthday I shall be fully debt free...provided there's no unforseen problems.
I do want to say, I empathise with many others on this forum. However, through dedication, determination and sheer hard work, people can get out of debt. There will be difficulties along the way, but believe you me, when you are debt free, it will be one of the happiest moments in your lives as the money you will then have will belong to yourself!!
I'll keep people update about my situtation, but if I can do, so can anyone else. Believe me. Any info or advice needed, please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to help!
Thanks, M H

Excellent MH - I also will be debt free in August - can't wait. The only thing that bothers me is that I will have all this extra money and keeping in my pocket/bank may be a problem.
Really don't want to borrow again and am definitely not going down that line. Am quite enjoying saving up for things and buying them once I have the money - but sometimes it is not easy!!
Good luck to you and all others when you become debt free! When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
Hey Sue (I take it your sue from your nickname), thanks for your reply..
Its a nice predicament to be in lollllll, having all this extra green (money).
I'll share something with you from my culture. If you can save say £20 a week as an example, then maybe you can give it to someone trustworthy to save for you on your behalf. You get like a rent book and sign off £20 per week and then by the end of 52 weeks you get the full return minus a small fee to the person who helped you. All this is aimed at those who may be tempted to spend their hard earned cash. However, you need someone very trustworthy. The down side, you dont earn no interest. There's pro's and cons in everything right.
Yes, like you, I am now prepared to save and buy rather than what I did before. Hey, i'm very happy for you....you only got 4 1/2 months to go before you debt free. Thats great news. Well done (in advance lollll).0
