Question regarding a Transfer of Equity - help !!!

I am currently in the process or remortgaging but need to do a ToE from a joint mortgage to a single mortgage, FD have said if it was a straight forward remortgage the sols fees would be paid but as it is a ToE as well, it had to be treated as a new mortgege which is going to cost me £500  in sols fees.

My question is can I do the ToE on my current mortgage thus making the new mortgage a straight forward remortgage (if u know what I mean). If this can be done how long would it take to do?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

You probably could but the costs would still be hundreds of £.

Spoke to sols to get some prices and I can get a ToE done for £160 I am planning to call NR today to see if they will also charge me anything for doing this, any ideas if they will?

The cost according to their latest tariff of charges is £175 if accepted and £95 if declined.

So if you can get accepted it will be £335 for it.

Thanks homer_j spoken to NR who said it would be £250 for the changes and the Sols have said it would be £160 ToE + £50 Land Registry, think I will be better off just paying the £500 and doing it all in one go when I change the mortgage over !!!

    Thanks for all your help

That must be the magical figure for every charge NR make. I am sorry my information made it look cheaper but that is what is in the latest tariff of charges that I downloaded this morning before I responded.

That said, it is as I thought in the sense that it would be as long as it is wide.
