You may be doing the charity shop a favour by lessening the amount of rubbish, they may have to pay for each bag the council take away.
All the charity shops in my area ask people not to leave bags when they're closed, it's classed as fly tipping ! Also dogs and drunks pee on them..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
seriously? In blood? that's a tad odd!

I actually donate to the charity (who have the shop) monthly anyway (they were a wonderful help when my nanna had a tumor and have done ever since she passed away) - but I didn't want to add that becuase I knew a few people might think:
'yeah right  of course you do!'
But seeing as it's come up a few times I thought it might be a good idea to post that.
Just to save argument, I'll go into the shop tonight, explain that I have made a small profit from the rubbished items and offer them 50% of any profits I have made or might make.
Having said that I now feel so bad for making any profit from rubbish, I might just leave it alone now! :O
oh well, I did ask for opinions and I'm glad in a way that it's raised so many questions.
hugs,

edit : I didn't know it was illegal to take rubbish!

Charity starts at home foremost, I remeber as a kid when the council used to provide skips on the local green. There was always some people having a scrounge around. Another man's waste is another man's treasure. Get what you can and flog it for what you can get.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0

ooo! Andy you just reminded me... Mr P found a coffee table in a skip 2 years ago... we still have it...nothing wrong with it!

maybe I should throw it out????
ha ha! I'm just messing about now! But true story!

I personally don't think there is a problem. I actually went into one of the charity shops in the town near me and complained because they had thrown out bags of china. Now Emmaus (charity to get homeless people back into homes) always want that sort of thing to put into homes for people. Or they could freecycle it. It really got my goat that the only thing they thought to do was throw it out.
So I personally would ask permission to take things out of the rubbish. You might find that they just don't have any idea what else to do with it. Some people are not very creative in that way.
But as far as the donations are concerned it is tricky. When does ownership pass from the donator to the charity? And also it is laziness on the part of the donator who is causing the issue of people going through the donated goods. Ie they can't be bothered to come back when the shop is open.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
