Confused

Hi, wondering if someone could help me, got a 2 year fixed deal with Nationwide coming to an end soon and have our mortgage review meeting with them tomorrow. We're currently paying 4.95% and will probably go up to 6.03% if we switch to their 5yr fixed. We're happy to pay this at the moment, but I've noticed that HSBC are currently doing a 5 year fixed for 5.77%. This would obviously be better, as we're thinking of starting a family in a couple of years. This is the first time we've remortgaged so I'm a little nervous about applying for a mortgage with HSBC when they're pulling so many products at the moment and find that this one disappears tomorrow or something.Sorry if this sounds silly, just we we're first time buyers a couple of years ago and I've never remortgaged before Just not sure whats best in the current climate.

  • Hi

The Coop bank have a 5 year deal at 5.54%.

I am also currently with Nationwide but their mortgage deals don't look very competitive to me at the moment. My current deal is stopping in June. I am actually hoping First direct come back into the mortgage market as their deals looked very good.

i have given up on nationwide and i have gone for the 10 year fix with hsbc, i did it all on the phone on friday am and the paperwork arrived today, they were really helpful, took about 45mins. I am an exsisting cust

i decided to upgrade my a/c to a plus one because then you get 5.67. over the course of the 10 years it saves about 900 as you can cancel the plus after a year

see my other post about nationwide, personally i feel really let down by them at this time.
