Paying off some debt

Hello all, im not a newbie to this board, but ive had to change my username to protect my identity;)
Currently I am on a DMP, and have got some money to pay off my smaller debts. Now I dont want to go through the DMP, as I want to deal with the creditors direct. Now from reading all the posts on here this has to be done by letter NOT via the phone. My questions are:-
Is there a standard letter to send?
What do I put in the letter?
Is it my responsibility to inform the credit ref agencies that the debt is cleared, or theirs?
Thanks :T

I can't answer as I simply do not know; however it is probably worth reading the DMP thread - I know some of the folk who post on there do their own DMP. I also believe the National Debtline site has some standard letters.
Good luck0 -
there are some template letters on the national debtline website. its best to do it by letter because that way you have written evidence of it should something go wrong later down the line. its important it also needs to contains the words "without prejuduce" and "full and final settlement".
i'm in the process of settling a debt myself.
