help me find this compny

Background: Thames Credit are chasing my husband for £200 he 'owes' - it was a default on a barclaycard but was paid off to a company called "Debt Enforcement Agency, Midland House, 64 Oswald Street Glasgow G1 4PQ.

We have a letter from them saying the received confirmation of a letter from my husband asking for a receipt to prove it have been paid but they say in this letter that they are no longer dealing with it and passed it back to Barclaycard - Barclaycard said they have no details past the month before it was clear but they have not sold the debt onto Thames or anyone else.

Thames have registered 2 defaults against my husband and we are trying to get a hold of this company to get proof that it is indeed paid off. The number we have for them is 01413005460 but there is no answer there - anyone help?

Well post em a letter dont bother phoning and get the letter recorded delivery, start with that first and if you want post them a copy of proof of payment. Its a start, P.S phone calls are a waste of time.

Does it have a 'company number' on the letter somewhere? If so, look that up on the Companies House website...

i've just noticed it says at the bottom "Debt Enforcement Agency is a trading name of Wescot Credit Services Ltd.

is it worth phoning them or will they say its nothing to do with them?

OK so youve got a PC type a letter save a dated copy to yer hard drive and send them a copy, DO NOT PHONE as they will say OH I didnt get a phonecall as before recorded delivery of a letter.
