I put some old bottles of nail polish on ebay, (fancy Chanel, Clarins and Dior stuff my MIL gave me) and some old make-up i haven't used. Posted some stuff i sold on ebay/Amazon and am sorting out my debts and which order i should pay them. (Something i should have done ages ago!) It's all adding up and starting to freak me out!!! Also trying to make a weekly budget but it's pretty difficult.... :(

Haven't posted in these sort of threads before and feel quite inadequate reading all yours, but here goes...
    • Switched from npower to npower (don't ask) saving us approx £25 per month for gas and electricity
    • Cancelled repair plan for t/dryer (saving £4.99 per month)
    • Cancelled mortgage protection cover as selling the house (saving £80 per month)
    • Got landline restrictions lifted for 9 days so can actually use the phone :T
    • Visited CAB and got motivated to do all this.
Sorry, just realised it said "small" thing you have done. I hope I haven't offended anyone by posting this - I'm just so proud of my first proper day MSEing.
As you can see, there are all the 'biggies' that everyone does at the beginning as the penny drops. However, the challenge will be to keep motivated which, I hope, I will be able to do.
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T

    Hi there

Love this thread, I find the small things that promote money saving lead to the big things. It was bad habits that got me in this mess in the first place so I need to retrain myself to adopt a frugal way of living.

What have I done today ?
    • Made homemade soup, carrot and coriander, delicious
    • Signed up to Abbey online credit card facility to keep a watchful eye on it
    • Checked online bank account against my monthly budget
    • Kept within my daily budget
    • Checked handbags for mislaid gift vouchers and found a £12 credit note for B&Q, spent it on paint to give my bedroom a quick tart up
    Happy saving !
