Credit score shows wrong address.

Hi,
i have always worked, been in NHS for 18yrs,same bank account for 18yrs and pay my bills on time.
I moved house in 2000 and in 2004 i went to buy a computer but was turned down gor credit. They gave it me the following day after i left a deposit. When i sent for my scoring from experian, there was a £100 outstanding loan that i knew nothing about. Couldn`t place it but accepted it but asked why they hadn`t wrote to me asking for the money. They said they had sent it out but i think they may have sent it to my last address. They then forwarded about 20 letters to me at my current house. It is all very confusing.
Could it be possible that my address hadn`t been updated? How do i prove when i moved out of one house into another? What if the new family had just ignored them?
I am so confused as i am a good, sensible and reliable person. Can anyone help please? Thanks.
