Where can I get Dr Who props to use for a Dr Who Party (free if poss!)

Hi,
I am hosting a Dr who party 2 wks on Saturday and I have hunted high and low for Dr Who Props to borrow for the day.
No where loans them out at all and I don't want to pay £25 for a lifesize Dr Who or Dalek just for one afternoon - I mean where would I put it afterward?????!!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
In fact any ideas for a 'come in costume' (Dr who themed) would be appreciated....free or cheap solutions of course!
I have tried 'blagging' as mentioned on this site but have had no joy with the big companies at all even though I said that it would be "a large outdoor event".
Huge thanks everyone to contributing to the success of this fabulous site!!!!

Somebody could just come and say that they have A+ blood and are under control of the sycorax - no costume needed.

I can't help on where to get free stuff, but at the 99p store they had some dr. who stickers. You may also find some dr who posters (one came free the other day in the newspaper). There's not much I can think of you can do that would be cool that's free or cheap, I'm afraid. If you know anyone who's handy at making things, you could possibly make some props like a Tardis (maybe out of cardboard, not that different from the original show props lol!).0

M&S are selling lots of Dr Who bits so it might be worth asking (very nicely of course) if they could spare or temp loan some of their promotional banners/posters/boxes.
Hope you have a good party.

many years ago i used to work for a courier company and one of my collections was at shepperton film studios... from there i used to collect life size cut outs of film stars for themed partys. uffortunatly i cant remember the name of the company, but it should not be to hard to find them again.
i shall have a scout arround and see what i can come up with?
not the exact company i was looking for but, this link has a nation wide list of suppliers

Try going into bookshops and similar and ask if they have any doctor who cutouts out back, when the xfiles was big I was a huge fan of the show and used to go round book/dvd type stores and ask if I could have the display stands once they had finished (Yep I'm a geek!) They usually dont mind giving them out though! What about asking for the cardboard standees they have in HMV and video stores? Sometimes they just throw them out, could you just get a large box and make a tardis? Sounds like a great idea for a party though, my little boy is mad on Dr Who. Good Luck!!!:A :

Absolutely brilliant suggestions!!! I have contacted our local musuem (gladstone pottery museum, stoke on trent) who are having a dr who day with colin baker and davros on May 18th (Trial of the rime lords was filmed there). They are going to loan me a dalek cut out pending authorisation as I have said that I will promote the day at our party (Which I definitely will!!) YIPPEE!!!!
Please keep the fantastic suggestions coming though!!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
