sorry if this as been asked before, did a search but couldn't find it.
Anyway the problem is my brother in law smokes roll up's and he as dreadful yellow stains on his fingers, it looks really unsightly but he says he's tried everything to get it off :-/ does anyone have any suggestions. I've told him to scrub it with a nail brush and some bleach
not sure if it's advisable though. BTW i've tried vinegar on it ;D it didn't work lol

..Try rubbing with lemon juice and a pumice stone. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0

Hi there..back in my smoking days I used to make a weak solution of bleach and water and soak my hand then rinse for ages under the tap. Yes, it was very bad for my skin but it did get rid of the nicotine stains. I reckon my lungs were in a far worse state than the skin on my hand ever became considering the amount of coughing I used to do. I can't think of any other way - like your brother-in-law, I tried everything I could think of, and never came across anything else that worked, except giving up which also got rid of my hacking cough. Not trying to lecture him though as it's a free world and he can do as he wishes but prevention is a great cure.
Oh just had another thought...has he tried the hand cream which is promoted to ladies to soften age spots? I think that has some sort of bleach property in it - never actually tried it myself though but maybe the pharmacy staff in Boots might recognise a bleach type substance from the list of ingredients if you whizz it past one of them.0 -
Cheers for you replys I'll ask him to give it a go, although not sure about the hand cream hes a bit of a macho type :-X lol "what ya wanna use all that gunk stuff" type 8) but i'll see if i can get him drunk enough some time ;)
btw any ideas on how to get him to stop smoking as well while were on the subject ;) ;D ???Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

I agree with the lemon, usually it has been a fresh lemon cut in half, it usually helps get rid of the smell of onions also when you have been chopping them up and your fingers get a bit smelly just rub it on.0 -
my ex used swarfega (spelling urgh) it seemed to work, I just gave up smoking it was easier0

::) color]Stop smoking would be a good way to get rid of them!! Sorry - only joking - liquid glycerine soap is really good for getting stains and ground in dirt off - if you ask at a chemist - they actually make it up for you.
My ex-husband used this on his hands then put a pair of latex gloves over the top for about half an hour and it got rid of some particularly nasty marks from his job as a welder!! this was quite a few years ago - i think he must have used it on his personality as that disappeared too! :-/0 -
