Whats the earliest time you can apply for a re-mortgage?

My mortgage discount period is due to end in under 6 months time and i was thinking maybe best to get a mortgage sorted out as soon as possible while there may be some good rates around.
Will mortgage offers look better in 4-5months time?
When will the valuation be done if i re-mortgage months ahead? I ask this as im hoping my LTV will look better the earlier i get a mortgage.

i think mortgages will remain at the same rates personally, some however are going up slightly - so the sooner the better really for you.
some products have a 6 month reservation period, but check with each lender.
and the valuation is done near the beginning of the application process, usually after say 2 or 3 weeks.0
