    HI everyone,
I do this just with water Beenie (I don't use waterproof mascara though). And once it's realy dry I use the brash for brushing my eyebrows.
But water may have bacteria in it I think?

    .
It might, but I never had any reaction to it. My mascara never got into my eye either though. I am one of those lucky people who's mascara don't run. Not even when I cry (I think if I had a proper cry like when your dog dies I would, but I didn't cry like that for long long time):rotfl:

I've tried many mascaras over the years (incl L'ancome, YSL, Channel..), but I swear by Max Factor. Used to use 2000 calories but now I use one of the new ones - Masterpiece max. Or when I go out I use the old dry 2000 calories brush just to separate the lashes after layering up for "dramatic effect". I find that only with Max factor you can put 2 layers without too much worries about "caking" and it also lifts my eyelashes and I look quite natural. :T

Can anyone recommend me a good body moisturiser? I have incredibly dry skin (i suffer from Echzema - and though it's not 'active' at the moment, it causes my skin to be very dry), i've tried all sorts, from moisturisers recommended by the doctor like E45 and a few others that i can't remember the names of to cheaper moisturisers availble in places like Boots such as Johnsons, Vaseline, various body butters including most of The Body Shop ones, mosturisers from Lush and more expensive ones like the Dermalogica rich moisturiser and am currently trying Elemis Frangipani Skin oil and i've also tried the bath milk (which can be applied neat on to the skin) but they still cause tightening to the skin within a few hours and make me very uncomfortable. My skin is dry and ashy looking and tends to flake alot, i've managed find the perfect combo of products for my face but i'm still struggling with body moisturisers. As a rule, i've found lotions are no where near moisturising enough and think creams are better, the hemp body butter by Body Shop was ok but i'm a bit of a hippie and have ethical issues with them ebing taken over by L'Oreal and won't shop there anymore, can anyone recommend me a good body moisturiser? I am flexible pricewise but would draw the line at about £30 unless i'm garunteed thata it will be excellent
Hi - there is a moisturiser called Aveena which has an oatmeal extract and is very moisturising and healing - great for eczema. It's not expensiv e - I usually get it from Costco but I know of someone who gets it on prescription so it may be worth asking your Gp?
    Good luck.
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........

When I see the likes of Andie MacDowell or Penelope Cruz endorsing reasonably low-cost brands like L'Oreal, I always think yeah, right, who are they kidding. I don't believe for one minute that these people for whom money is no object would actually put anything like L'Oreal anywhere near their face, hair or body.

    Exactly what I think :D
I especially dislike the hair colouring ones. As though we believe Andie MacDowell or Davina McCall go off to Superdrug to buy a box of hair colour then go back home and colour it themselves.
  • Off topic I know but - especially as Davina's Mum died last year or the year before , and they weren't speaking at the time, so I think the scene where she is supposed to be talking to her Mum is particularly bad taste!

Yeah I thought that when I read in the papers that they hadnt talked for a long time and Davina didnt go to the funeral. I'm a bit naive as thought that was her real mum she was talking to in the advert.

I always have a vision of Eva Longoria in her bathroom putting a home highlight colour on! Yes right.

If you notice now on the mascara adverts there is always little writing at the bottom of the screen saying that the lashes were "enhanced post production"or some such thing. In other words, don't expect your lashes to look like this.

How stupid do these huge cosmetic companies think we are?

Judging by some of the meetings I have been in, pretty stupid. And judging by some of the things that sell well they might have a point.
