Blackberry Icecream... Recipe Anyone ???

I have collected tons of blackberries, and am currently making wine. I thought I might make some icecream with the rest.
I've never made it before and wondered if anyone had a recipe, I don't have an icecream maker or anything, just the usual kitchen utensils.
Can anyone help?

A simple way if your not up to actually making your own would be to buy a block of good quality icecream soften it by whipping it fold the berries into it after soaking in a light syrup or better still liquer of some type and then pop back in the freezer for ten mins or so, its quick and easy but not exactly "Just like mama used to bake"Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

Couldn't find exact recipe for blackberries, but maybe you could adapt this one which was originally for blackcurrants. (Taken for the Dairy cookbook)
3/4 pint of milk
1 vanilla pod
1 egg plus four egg yolks
6 oz caster sugar
10 floz double cream
8 oz blackcurrant (blackberries?)
4 oz icing sugar
Bring the milk and vanilla pod almost to the boil. Take off the heat and leave to infuse for ten mins.
Whisk together the eggs, egg yolks and caster sugar until thick and pale. Strain on the infused milk, take out the vanilla pod - (it can be reused later if washed and dried). Stir over a low heat until mixture thickens slightly and then leave to cool.
Lightly whip the fresh cream and then fold into the cooled custard. Pour into a square or oblong container (freezer proof) to the depth of about two inches. Freeze for about three hours until mushy. Remove and whisk. Freeze for another three to four hours.
Meanwhile in a blender puree the uncooked blackcurrants (blackberries) and icing sugar. Sieve to remove the pips.
Take the ice cream out of the freezer and whisk again. Spoon a layer back into the freezer container. Pour over some of the fruit puree. Coninue to layer. Return to the freezer.
Too serve, let it soften in the fridge for about one hour.

You might need to cut down on the sugar in that recipe for blackberries as they are a lot less sharp than blackcurrants. Definitely one to taste as you are making it.
I am going to make some at the weekend!

I copied this recipie out of a magazine a while ago but I haven't had chance to try it yet so I'm not sure of the results!
Blackberry Frozen Yogurt
200g blackberries
75g caster sugar
250g natural yogurt
Mix all together and freeze (it's the ease that appeals to me

Honey - that does sound good and really simple (especially when you compare it to the faff of the ice cream recipe I found). Frozen yoghurt is really tasty too. Off to get more blackberries....0

I would do a similar thing, but maybe with greek yoghurt, or a mix of greek yoghurt and whipping cream. I have a raspberry bombe recipe which is whipped cream, crushed meringue, icing sugar and raspberries, but could easily be used for blackberries - yum - wish I wasn't going to Spain tonight then I could make some (only joking). Could also make kids lollies with greek yoghurt, honey and blackberries (sieved might be even better). If you cooked the blackberries in a little creme de cassis that would be really tasty.0
